Perth-based smart technology company RCT has beat the likes of Caterpillar, Enerpac and Komatsu to take out this year’s Innovative Mining Solution award at the recent 2016 Prospect Mining Awards held in Sydney.
With so many new innovative technologies on the market for resources, energy and construction sectors, it can become difficult for companies when selecting an appropriate technology to adopt.
The annual Prospect Mining Awards can provide insight into some of the better technologies and practices available. Running for the past decade, the Prospect Mining Awards recognises mining, equipment and technology companies for their contributions to the mining sector.
In the Innovative Mining Solution category, RCT took out this year’s award for its ControlMaster® Independent Guidance Solution.
Competing against other market-leading entrants for this award, RCT’s ControlMaster® Independent Guidance Solution enables underground mining vehicles to autonomously travel at higher speeds and navigate difficult spaces. Because it enables heavy machinery to travel underground at greater speeds, this technology increases productivity and safety, while reducing potential machine damage, which can save operations millions in lost time and repair costs further down the track.
According to RCT chief executive officer Brett White, the ControlMaster® can be installed on all underground trucks and loader makes and models.
